Does anyone have any suggestions on an affordable follow focus AND rings solution? I was looking at Redrock and Ikan but for only $45 more Redrock definitely seems the better between those two. Something with hard stops would be nice though, but all of the cheap FF with hard stops I see tend to fall apart or just have annoying properties in general.
(Another feature I like is snap-on vs. sliding on at the end of the rails which means taking off the mattebox and anything else in the way when you want to switch to dumb side or anything.)

When it comes to quick release mechanisms for FFs, Redrock's version is genius. The Blue is definitely and interesting alternative to what is currently offered. Other interesting options would be from the likes of Genus and Letus. All are around the same price range.

I need to check out the Letus. I like the Redrock but agree that hard stops would be nice to have, especially when using Canon zooms which will spin forever. It has the tiniest bit of play but that seems to be unavoidable with pretty much anything, especially in that price range. I also like the adjustable focus rings from Arri which have the stocks and can be used with FF or independently of one for run and gun type stuff.

I know this is an old thread, but I just thought I'd relate my experiences with the Lanparte AB follow focus. It's truly surprising piece of kit, has no backlash or slop, perfectly dampened, and dual hard stops. It's very solid, and a good bit heavier than my Chrosziel 206-01s FF; but the action is just as smooth! I changed out the 36mm 1:1 gear drive a 30mm gear drive for about a 1:0.75 focus throw and with the hard stops, it's a really beautiful addition to my L lenses. The dampening even makes my 85mm 1.2 a dreamt to focus. For just a bit of $400, I think it's the best value FF under $1k.
